STONEMASONRY

THE SCIENCE OF STEREOTOMY

Guillaume Froger

Descriptive geometry (Stereotomy) is definited as using geometrical knowledge and techniques of drawings, cutting blocks of stone and assembling them into complex structures (walls, vaults, arches, etc.) within an architectural construction.

Before he moved towards stone sculpture for historical monuments, Guillaume gained valuable experience working full time as Stonemason from 2003 to 2008.

« The stone has no hope of being anything but stone.
But collaborating, it assembles and becomes a temple. »
